Healthier Apple Crumble
This ultimate winter comfort food is made with only a few spoonful's of Coconut Sugar to sweeten. You can serve it with some natural yogurt for the little ones but for the grown ups I made some extra thick custard. So yummy 😋
- 3 eating apples
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 75g plain flour
- 45g butter
- 35g oats
- 2tbsp coconut sugar
Peel and chop the apples into bite size pieces. Add to your baking dish and cover with the lemon juice and 1 tbsp coconut sugar and mix well. In a large bowl, rub together the butter and flour until you get a breadcrumb texture, add the remaining 2tbsp coconut sugar and oats and rub together again. Add this topping to your apples. Bake in an 180 fan oven for 30-40 mins until bubbling (if it starts to brown add some foil over the top). You can also add a handful of berries if you want to for extra fruitiness!
